A few days late for a New Year's post, but I hope everyone's 2016 is off to a great start! I rang in the new year in New Orleans as part of the Sugar Bowl and loved being back in that amazing city.
As I reflect upon the past year, what stands out most to me is that I could have never predicted the way that 2015 unfolded. I started off the year covering the Rose Bowl game, followed by the first ever College Football Playoff National Championship game. I traveled to Austria and Germany where I got engaged (!!!) to my best friend. As the wedding planning started to happen, I would have never dreamed that less than six months later I would be with a new company, in a new city, living out of two laundry baskets and a DIY-closet consisting of two chairs and a golf club while somehow trying to move into another apartment. I wasn't actively searching for a new opportunity or looking to create more change in what was already a busy life.
However, I do believe that things happen for a reason. I had one particular day where I received some news that would change the "plan" I had set for myself. Literally less than an hour after I got this phone call, I found a paper fortune in the sidewalk crack that read "something spectacular is coming your way."

In that moment, I chose to believe that -- and it ultimately came to fruition. In the months since, I started working for the Big 12, am finally moving in with my fiance after over five years of long distance, and there are some pretty awesome things on the horizon. And even though it can get stressful trying to plan a wedding and move and navigate through a new job all at once, I'm just throwing plans out the window and trying to live one day at a time.
I'm so grateful for what turned out to be an incredible 2015 -- and can't wait to see where 2016 takes me.
